Praying

Please pray for baby Stellan, I have been all morning. I don't even know these people but feel as if I do because I read her awesome blog so often. Long story short: In the womb baby stellan was diagnosed with heart failure and was not supposed to live. Stellan did survive and was born a very healthy full term baby. Now at 4 months old, he is in the hospital with SVT, meaning an extremely high heart rate for anyone let alone a baby. The doctors are doing everything they can to slow down his heart rate, but so far nothing has really helped. So anyway, even though I don't actually know this family I am praying very hard for them. I guess having my own baby really puts this in to perspective and I can't imagine going through what this mother is going through. We are so SO lucky to have a healthy child. Here is the link to her blog if you would like to read her story yourself....http://www.mycharmingkids.net/. Please pray for this family.

Weekend & Lent

Hello everyone! I can't believe the weekend is over already! We had a very nice and busy weekend. On Friday night, we had dinner at Charlestons...yum...then ice cream at Dairy Queen...YUM!!!! Instead of the mint oreo blizzard, I had a mint brownie blizzard...delicious!! After that, we went and rented Role Models....SO Funny! On Saturday I cleaned almost all day and in the evening we played cards (euchre) with Matt & Cassie (our best friends who are now roomies :-)). On Sunday, we had a double date with Matt and Melissa at Kona Grill. Love sushi!!!

So lately I've been feeling very guilty because I did not give something up for Lent. I do every year...and this year it just kind of slipped by. Even my non-Catholic husband gave up soda and candy! I did tell Kyle I wanted to give up nagging him and act more like a wife than his mother, which I am doing...and I feel we are so much closer now and arguing a lot less. Which is great...but I felt I really needed to give something up that I have a hard time living without. This is incredibly sad.....but I am totally addicted to chocolate. I eat some sort of chocolate about 3 times a day. Brownies, candy bars, chocolate chip cookies, ice cream....I love it all. Anyway, after consuming about 5 brownies and a chocolate bunny on Saturday, I decided to finally give up chocolate for Lent. I know it is about 3 weeks late, but at least i have the willpower to do it now, rather than never! I can't wait for Easter!! I think Lilly will be getting a lot of chocolate in her Easter basket! :-)

Lilly is now constantly rolling in her crib and making us very nervous. I looked at her monitor after I got out of the shower the other night, and she was sleeping on her tummy flat on her face with her paci in her mouth. It was so scary! So everytime she rolls, I go in and roll her back so it won't happen again. That means not very much sleep for mommy!! Oh well, better safe than sorry!

Sick

Well we are all sick at the Wong house! Kyle, Lilly, and I all have stuffy noses, sore throat, etc.... It pretty much sucks :-( Lilly had her first overnight this weekend at Grandma & Grandpa's house. She had so much fun! Kyle and I had a date night! We went downtown and ate at P.F. Changs...my favorite!!! We also did some late night grocery shopping. I have been excited about this fun date night for quite a while and of course I get sick when it happens :-( Oh well... Here are some pictures of Lilly! She is 5 1/2 months old and getting bigger everyday. She can almost sit up by herself...as you can see in the pictures she still needs some help for her boppy! She is also talking constantly! A lot of ba's, da's, oh's, oo's, and ah's.......and i think i heard a ma the other day!!!

Song For a Fifth Child

My big girl...
My teeny tiny baby...

I read this poem...and I love it. (Below) It completely describes what my life is like right now. I feel torn between wanting to get things done (cleaning, cooking, organizing, etc...) and spending all of my free time with Lilly. I have let things become pretty messy and cluttered because I would rather spend all of my time with my baby. I think this is way more important than keeping a clean house and who cares if we order Chinese food for dinner again?? :-) I am enjoying watching Lilly grow and play every day and time is going by way too fast. I don't want to miss a single second of her life. Sometimes at night, even though I am so ready for a baby break, I don't want to put her to bed because I miss her. I swear I look at her on the monitor (it is a cool video one) constantly. Anyway...this poem really just makes me feel not so bad about abandoning my house and my poor dog who hasn't had a bath in about a month (or more). Thank goodness for groomers (tomorrow, yay!...he is stinky...) So I think right now I am just going to focus on being a good mom and spending as much time with Lilly as I can....I know I am sappy, but I love my little girl more than anything. Sorry Tucker (our dog...) :-)

Song for a Fifth Child

Mother, oh Mother, come shake out your cloth, Empty the dustpan, poison the moth, Hang out the washing and butter the bread, Sew on a button and make up a bed. Where is the mother whose house is so shocking? She’s up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.

Oh, I’ve grown shiftless as Little Boy Blue.Dishes are waiting and bills are past due (Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo). The shopping’s not done and there’s nothing for stew. And out in the yard there’s a hullabaloo. But I’m playing Kanga and this is my Roo. Look! Aren’t her eyes the most wonderful hue?

The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow, For children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow. So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep. I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.

All smiles for Mommy!
So sleepy...

Hi Mama!

Looking cute in jeans :-)

Lilly on Valentine's Day!
I had a great, relaxing Valentine's Day yesterday. In the morning Kyle made me breakfast and gave me lots of chocolate and a funny card. I went to see the new Shopaholic movie with Cassie, which was pretty good. Then yesterday evening me and Kyle rented Nick and Norah's Infinate Playlist (I think thats what it is called) and ordered yummy pizza! It was a very nice day! I really wanted to go to The Melting Pot and Kyle tried to make reservations 2 weeks ago and the only one he could get was at 10:45 pm!!! We said no way...too late. Maybe we will go there soon!!
So Lilly has been SO active lately! She is constantly moving, kicking, and rolling over! As soon as I lay her on her back, she immediately rolls over onto her stomach! A couple of mornings ago, I went in to get her from her crib. She was on her tummy, propped up on her elbows looking around! And...she was facing her crib bars and kicking her monitor!! Soooo funny... I also put her down for a nap yesterday and when I went to get her, her head was in the opposite direction than it was when I put her down! I have a feeling she will be crawling in no time. We are also getting ready to buy an activity jumper for Lilly. She will love it!!

Rolling Over!

In the process of rolling over!
I am such a big girl!

First week eating cereal!

She loves it!!
Lilly has learned to roll over! She can roll from her back on to her front. It is SO cute to watch her. She tried so so hard last week and eventually just rolled right on over! And she has been doing it ever since then! In other news...I have been sick....blah. Last week, I had a fever and now I think it is just a bad cold. I can't stop sneezing and I am pretty congested. I hope and pray that Lilly does not get sick. Enjoy the pictures!
